Steven Schoeny, Director
City of Columbus, Department of Development

Steve Schoeny leads a team of 170 employees dedicated to improving the economy and neighborhoods of Columbus. The Department of Development has an operating budget of $32.8 million and oversees $44.6 million in Capital Budget Funds. The Department of Development is responsible for housing, code enforcement, economic development, land redevelopment and planning. Schoeny joined the City after serving as a principal with Ice Miller Whiteboard, a consulting group that provides growth and development strategies to corporations, organizations and state and local governments. Schoeny worked as director of the Strategic Business Investment Division of the Ohio Department of Development from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that Schoeny worked for the Ohio Department of Development International Trade Division from 1997 to 2005, Economic Consulting Services Inc. from 1995 to 1997 and the Institute for International Economics from 1994 to 1995.



Brent Crawford, Principal

Brent Crawford is a Principal and Founder in the full service real estate firm Crawford Hoying and family of companies. Brent has guided the vision of the company for the past 20 years, which he has grown from a single investment property in 1994 to one of the largest real estate firms in Columbus, Ohio. The residential and commercial real estate brokerages alone manage over 2,000,000 sq ft of commercial properties, and have closed over $2.4 billion in transactions.

Brent is currently guiding the development of $500 million in new developments to be completed over the next three years, and manages the company's relationships with over 100 equity investors. He has spoken at many events as a guest speaker covering topics such as current real estate trends, multi-family markets, and development growth in Central Ohio. In addition, Brent taught property management and real estate trends for two years at the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.



Jeff Baur, Executive VP of Development

Jeff Baur is the Executive Vice President at Borror. Currently, Jeff is responsible for the development division of Borror. Borror has 17 development projects in various stages, including condominiums, apartments, office, and mixed use projects primarily in the Short North and downtown areas of Columbus.

A graduate of Ohio University, and a Columbus native, Jeff spent 10 years in sales and marketing before joining the commercial real estate field. Jeff spent several successful years in commercial real estate brokerage under the guidance of multiple national firms, including Cassidy Turley and Marcus & Millichap. Jeff came to the Borror team after being drawn by the “unique opportunity” to join a boutique commercial real estate company. Jeff’s background in commercial real estate brokerage has proven to translate well to development. Jeff currently serves on the advisory board of ULI Columbus.

Jeff and his wife, Natalie, live in Dublin with their three children.  Jeff is very active in the community, and is currently serves as the Sustainability Fund Chairman at St. Brigid of Kildare School, on the Finance Committee at Bishop Watterson High School, and is the commissioner of the Dublin Youth Athletics Lacrosse league.




Bob White, Jr., President

As president of Daimler, Robert White, Jr. oversees all new business development and marketing efforts, working closely with a team of experts who are widely known throughout the industry for their solutions-based approach to each project, large or small. Bob Jr. manages and maintains relationships with Daimler’s new and existing clients. He also participates in the process of site selection, building design, lease negotiation and documentation, primarily for Daimler’s speculative and build-to-suit office, medical office, and office/ warehouse developments. He has been involved in the leasing of in excess of two million square feet.
