As millions of American baby-boomers reach retirement age senior living providers will need to adapt to increasing demand and the changing needs of residents. Senior care is a complex issue and will require providers to think strategically and adapt to the changing market. Our panelists will provide insight on current and future economic conditions, their organizational strategic plans, and the impact of recent legislation.  


Linda Saunders
Founder & President, Censusolutions 

A licensed nursing home administrator for nearly thirty years, Linda has specialized in opening new senior campuses by developing center-based teams and spearheading aggressive marketing programs.  Linda has served as a consultant to regional and national senior living and health care companies in the areas of marketing, sales, strategic planning and revenue maximization.  Linda’s winning blend of operational skills coupled with tenacious marketing expertise fostered her success as a leader and mentor within the senior living profession.  She was elected as President of the Board of Directors of the Health Care Admissions and Marketing Directors Association of America in 2001.  Linda has served as a guest instructor of the Graduate Management Institute of Ashland University and The Ohio State University.  She is a sought after speaker at industry conferences and is a regular contributor to leading publications.  She is Founder and President of Censusolutions, an Ohio-based marketing firm specializing in senior housing, aging services and health care.   Linda’s programs are utilized in more than 150 organizations nationwide.

Peg Carmany, Esq.
CEO, Methodist Eldercare Services

Margaret R. Carmany, Esq., is the Chief Executive Officer of Methodist ElderCare Services and its affiliates, Wesley Glen and Wesley Ridge.  She began her career as a trial lawyer, specializing in the representation of doctors, hospitals, and nursing homes that had been sued in medical malpractice cases. Peg came to Methodist ElderCare in 2002 as the company's Chief Legal Officer, and became CEO in 2007. She has overseen the growth and stabilization of Methodist ElderCare, including the construction of a 20,000 square foot Wellness Center at Wesley Glen, and currently, the addition of a 25 bed skilled nursing unit at Wesley Ridge. Methodist ElderCare has also started its own pharmacy and most recently, its own hospice company


Laura Hester

Laura Hester,
VP, Senior Living Care & Services, Plante Moran CRESA

In her role as vice president of consulting for the senior living sector, Laura brings 15 years of experience in managing the planning, development, and construction of senior living communities throughout the Midwest.  Laura was a former principal with Davos Development’s senior living group.  During her time with Davos Development, she was responsible for the planning, development, and construction of new independent and assisted living communities.  Laura’s role involved real estate acquisition, market positioning, financial feasibility analysis, procuring entitlements, and construction oversight. 

Prior to her time with Davos Development, Laura was a senior vice president of the Midwest region for Sunrise Development, Inc. a division of Sunrise Senior Living.  She has been involved in the planning, approval, and delivery of more than 2,000 assisted and independent living units valued at more than $480 million. 

Laura received a bachelor’s degree in architecture, a bachelor’s postgraduate professional degree in architecture, and a master’s degree in architecture with distinction from Lawrence Technological University.  She also received an MBA with a focus in business development and strategy from Ohio State University’s Max M. Fisher College of Business.   Laura is an Urban Land Institute member as well as a building committee member of SS. John and Paul Parish in Washington, MI. 

Diane Deitz Diane Dietz

Assistant Executive Director, Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA)

Diane Dietz has been in the healthcare profession for more than 25 year.  She began her career with a medical advertising agency then moved into marketing and managed care for a Columbus-based subacute nursing and rehabilitation center then local-area hospital system.   She joined OHCA in 1997 to assist member long term care facilities in developing managed care strategies, products and services to increase profitability and patient mix within their operations.  Today, as OHCA's Assistant Executive Director, Diane is responsible for administrative advocacy to help insure effective long term care policy at the state level.  In addition, she oversee OHCA's various member service activities including but not limited to their Educational Foundation, workers compensation programs and affinity relationships.

Please do not park in the rear of the building. PLEASE NOTE: Due to changes in the parking structure at OSU, all attendees to the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center will need to display a parking pass in the window of their car when parking in the lot across the street. Please download the parking pass and display in your dashboard on the day of the event.
