CHRIS LAGANA, MBA, PMP | System Director Capital Project Management | Trinity Health
Chris provides system leadership in the capital project management process utilized throughout Trinity Health’s 57 hospitals in 19 states, including Mount Carmel in Columbus, OH. He works collaboratively with their health system’s subject matter experts, he develops, implements and oversees processes, the use of benchmarks, standards, approaches to construction, deployment of resources, vendor qualifications and selection, design and furnishings specifications in capital projects throughout the system. While overseeing a portfolio of over $2.3B of capital construction projects, he is accountable to train, educate and monitor compliance with their standards. At the system level, he participates in the integration strategic, financial and capital planning process and in the planning and roll out of all significant capital projects.
Prior to this role Chris worked in the construction industry for 20 years and the more recently at both Mount Carmel and OhioHealth in the roles of Owner’s Representative and Project Manager respectively. He has a degree in manufacturing engineering and an MBA.
BILL OROSZ | Director of Planning | The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
Bill is the chief planning officer in charge of space planning and space management of upwards of 9 million square feet of academic, research and clinical space at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Strategic Real Estate services and Space Information Management are essential to this role. Bill represents the Medical Center in the larger University on sustainability issues, and is a leader in the related ‘cultural changes’ occurring within OSUWMC. Bill’s 38-year planning career includes professional service to over 90 healthcare organizations throughout the United States and Canada. For 17 years, he served as a Partner in a Columbus area architecture firm. He has served on the Boards of city, state and national organizations including ULI Columbus, Leadership Ohio, Columbus Historical Society, and the American College of Healthcare Executives Regents Advisory Council. He currently serves on the Steering Committee of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Group on Institutional Planning (GIP) and is Chair Elect. Bill Orosz graduated from Miami University in 1978, and earned an MPA from The Ohio State University in 1980, with emphasis on health policy. He resides in Powell with his wife of 38 years, Dr. Janet E. Foley Orosz. A native of Cleveland, he enjoys Cleveland and Buckeye sports, golf and gardening.
OKEY ENELI, PE, MBA | Vice President – Engineering Services | Nationwide Children’s Hospital
Okey has been the Vice President of Engineering Services at Nationwide Children’s Hospital since October of 2006. Previous to this appointment, he held the Director position for several months. He is responsible for Facilities Operations, Design and Construction, BioMedical Engineering, Environmental Services and Safety. Prior to joining Nationwide Children’s, Okey was the Director of The Office of Facilities for The State of Michigan, where he was responsible for construction projects, operations and maintenance of over 7 Million square feet of building and laboratory facilities, 1,000 acres of grounds, 2 power plants and 5 parking ramps.
ROLAND TOKARSKI | System VP – Real Estate, Construction & Facilities | OhioHealth
Roland Tokarski serves as the leader of Real Estate, Construction and Facilities at OhioHealth. OhioHealth is a leader in the Ohio healthcare market with 11 hospitals, millions of square feet, hundreds of care sites, 28,000 employees and assets of almost $5 billion.
Over the past 25 years, Roland has been a tireless, passionate and entrepreneurial leader who works to inspire those around him to excel at all they do. With a focus in the building and real estate industry, total building and real estate projects secured and built during that time approaches $4 billion in value.
PETER BARDWELL, FAIA, FACHA | Principal | BARDWELL+associates, LLC
Peter L. Bardwell, FAIA, FACHA brings over 40 years of experience in healthcare facilities planning and design spanning 22 states and 5 countries — and including key roles in facility master planning, programming, and or schematic design of over 70 healthcare facilities. Within the past 5 years alone, he has contributed to over 10 projects in those early phases, totaling over $1 Billion in construction value.
Mr. Bardwell is honored to be a nationally-recognized practitioner, speaker, and author in healthcare planning and design — and to be among fewer than 50 practicing architects in the nation to be recognized as a Fellow in both the American Institute of Architects and the American College of Healthcare Architects. He is, moreover, honored to serve on the 2017-2019 AIA Fellows Jury, which selects the leading architects in the nation each year for this designation — and is additionally honored to be the recipient of the 2017 AIA Ohio Individual Gold Medal.
He currently serves on the Board of the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, for which he served as 2008 national President. He served as 2013 national President of the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) which oversees board certification of healthcare architects. Additionally, he served as 2012 President and Trustee of the Foundation of the Academy of Architecture for Health, which funds research on contemporary healthcare topics.
