Community Involvement

SMPS Columbus has identified many local charities to donate both time and money. Please join us at one of the upcoming charitable events.

August 9, 2011- SMPS Celebrity Charity Golf Classic
Kids 'n KampMark your calendars for the SMPS Celebrity Charity Golf Classic benefiting Kids ‘N Kamp on Tuesday, August 9, 2011.

Kids 'n Kamp, an independent non-profit organization, is devoted to the social, educational and emotional needs of children with cancer. By providing family activities, tutoring, counseling and support opportunities, the Kids 'n Kamp network touches the lives of more than 400 area children and their families each year.

Please contact Scott Wilson at 614-863-3113 with any questions.

In addition to the events listed above, SMPS Columbus has recently given back to the local community in the following ways:

October 10, 2010- SMPS Columbus supports WALK NOW FOR AUTISM SPEAKS
Autism Speaks"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead

We, by the sheer force of our combined passion, commitment, and numbers will move this field forward to find effective treatments and a cure for this devastating neurological disorder called autism.

SMPS Columbus formed a team of walkers who gathered and waked together in this event. Prior to the walk, participants reached out to their contacts and raised donations to support Autism Speaks.

December 15, 2010- Holiday Charity Event benfitting Nationwide Children's Hospital Child Development & Autism Center
Holiday Charity EventThe Columbus Chapter donated 120 toys and over $700 for Nationwide Children's Hospital Child Development & Autism Center at our annual Charity Event. This year the event was held at the R.W. Setterlin Building Company. Members and guests gathered in the evening to enjoy networking, music, food, and a silent auction. Holiday Jazz music was provided by the grammy nominated Mark Lomax Trio. During the evening a presentation of the donation was made by Dawn Wiford, Communications Chair, to a family representing the center. A great time was had by all and the end result was tremendous support for a very worthy cause.
