Fellow SMPS Columbus Members,
Here are the highlights from our board meeting held on April 2, 2013:
We are just past the mid-year point of the 2012-2013 year. I’m truly amazed and proud of what we’ve accomplished at this point within SMPS Columbus. In case you missed it, our 30 Year Anniversary was amazing! Our membership came in large numbers to celebrate the history of our awesome chapter, the food was excellent, and of course the camaraderie fantastic! Ron Worth, SMPS National President was on hand along with several of our past-presidents who were recognized with a Certificated of Service Award. We launched our 2013 SMPS Columbus Celebrity Golf Classic at the March Program Luncheon, plus our MIX Committee continues to host great events. In the spirit of March Madness, SMPS Columbus won the SMPS March Madness Membership contest for mega-chapter bracket! Our membership is now 155 strong, where we began the year at 136 members. I feel so blessed to have such a hard working, service-oriented board members and committees! Their hard work and commitment have led to so many great programs, events, and growth of our chapter.
- SMPS Columbus has won membership madness!
- We are excited to welcome all of the new members at an upcoming breakfast in May
- Special thanks to the Programs Committee for a successful March Program where 100 people registered
- The InDesign classes have come to a close, many thanks to Suzanne Cody, Ted Orr, Amy Shea, and Joel Kohler for sharing their expertise
- We have set a goal to make the announcements stay within a 15 minute time slot for all programs moving forward. Please be mindful of the website for all things SMPS Columbus, we keep the website up to date with all of the events and news thanks to our dedicated Communications Committee
Some bittersweet news: We are losing one of our SMPS Columbus Chapter Rock Stars! Megan Gilbride, CPSM is taking her business development/marketing/graphic talents to the bright lights of New York City! She has accepted a position with Shen Milsom & Wilke, an audiovisual/multimedia, information technology, acoustics, building security and medical planning firm. Since joining our chapter in 2008, Megan’s contribution to SMPS Columbus is immeasurable. She has served on several committees and chapter initiatives to include MIX, Program, Communications, Website, and Star Chapter. What I love most about Megan (and will miss) is her unwavering commitment and incredible spirit of service to our Chapter. Please join me in wishing Megan the best as she successfully moves onward and upward in her career. BTW, Megan I called New York Chapter President, Jason Vesuvio: He’s waiting on you…?
If you have any questions about the highlights from our board meeting or about our chapter in general please email me at sporter@dynamix-ltd.com. I appreciate your feedback, suggestions, comments, and thoughts!
Also a quick reminder that parking passes are required for all our Programs at the 4-H Center. Please print the parking pass and display it on your dashboard!
